This association was founded in 2007 by three universities teaching Japanese studies in the Czech Republic. In other words, the Masaryk University in Brno, Charles University in Prague and Palacký University in Olomouc and the teachers teaching there were the founding members. Later on, many teachers from outside the university joined us and nowadays we represent the vast majority of teachers teaching Japanese in the Czech Republic.
Our main goals are to help students in their studies and to provide more opportunities in the language sphere. Every year we organize a Japanese recitation competition, Benron Taikai, JLPT Japanese exams and various seminars and meetings for teachers. We also publish teaching materials and textbooks for teaching Japanese language.
Since 2012, we have been cooperating with Sakura network, an offshoot of the Japan Foundation. Other affiliated associations include AJE, the Association of Japanese Teachers in Europe.
